Frozen Pipes & Fresh Perspective

Living full-time in an RV has been an adventure, but I wasn’t fully prepared for how humbling it would be—especially during the recent freeze. Waking up to frozen water lines and no hot water made me realize just how tough it can be for folks living in RVs full-time. I spent days troubleshooting, hoping a pipe hadn’t burst and dreading the potential mess if it did.

Going through that firsthand gave me a new level of empathy for my tenants. Many of them were dealing with the same struggles, and now I understand their frustrations on a much deeper level. The experience pushed me to research heated water lines, and I’m looking into ways to help prevent future freezes for both myself and the people in my park. Sometimes, the best way to understand a problem is to live it yourself.

Snowmobiles & Brotherhood in Colorado

I recently took a trip to Winter Park, Colorado, with a group of 45 guys I’ve been meeting with monthly. We’ve built a great community—a space where we can share what’s going on in our lives, support each other, or just enjoy good company. This trip was a chance to step away from the day-to-day grind and reset.

I didn’t ski or snowboard, but I did something just as exciting—snowmobiling in the mountains for the first time! A group of us rented sleds and tore through the mountains, and it was incredible. I played it safe with the smallest model at first, then tried a bigger one, and now I know exactly what to get next time. Sometimes, a little adrenaline and fresh mountain air are all you need to recharge.

Big Dreams, Practical Homes

My business partner, Joe, and I are still on the hunt for our next practical home development project, and we recently came across something interesting—a lakefront property in Michigan with 10 lots, and there’s only a house on 1 lot. We’re excited to possibly build a small, sustainable community on the water, but as with any deal, the numbers have to make sense.

Right now, we’re in the negotiation phase, trying to lock in a price that makes this a great investment. It’s a work in progress, but that’s the fun of real estate—finding the right deal, putting the pieces together, and creating something valuable. I’ll keep you posted as this unfolds!
